I’ve been hard at work all summer since my life went topsy turvy from February 2022 to present day as a result of systemic oppression at my now former workplace. It’s challenged me to think a lot about the kind of work I want to do, and why. I’ve been trying to figure out how to accomplish all of the everything! The first virtual show of the BVR is over and done with, with viewers worldwide, and the next one is already starting to roll down the pipeline. I feel like I’m juggling a bunch of balls all at once, but its in an exciting way, as opposed to a scary one. I feel a sense of freedom that I was not expecting. I’m working on the projects that I want to work on, I’m spending more time with my loved ones, and I’m still just as vocal as I’ve ever been about the state of the world. I even have people willing to write testimonials about the work I’ve done (coming soon to this website), and I have finally jettisoned my last storage unit, which was jam packed with book storage from Multiplicity of Books. I’ve actually got subscribers now, and will be releasing my first official newsletter soon! Holy heck! I still have a long to-do list, but its gonna get done. I pride myself on my follow through.
I’m currently reading Care Work by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha and its creating a lot of reframing about how I organize for disability justice as a Deaf/Disabled person. I have never had a book make me feel so fervently determined to build community. Check it out either by purchasing at my bookshop or by checking it out your local library!
Thank you for reading! Sign up below if you want the in depth newsletters I’ll be releasing VERY soon.
